Wagga Rail Trail Inc. is excited to hear that the NSW Government has offered Wagga Wagga City Council $11.7 million for implementation of its Active Travel Plan. It is a project that will transform our city.
How exciting is this….We have ordered all the play equipment! Yep – it’s on its way and we are happy to announce that the colours of the equipment, play surface, seating and cardio bike will take on our Brunslea theme in orange and green.
When Wagga Wagga (our Riverina) was named as the fattest city in the Sydney Morning Herald in 2015, it brought with these alarming statistics a heightened awareness of negative impact and the urge to personally (as a team) take responsibility. We want to create and engage opportunity for you guys, our community to live well and be able to exercise. This is why footpaths are so important as part of our overall development, making it easier for families to get out and about. We have also been working on a few goodies to promote health and wellbeing. Be sure to check out our wellness gifts.
We are pleased to announce that our 64ha natural wetlands area's development application has now been approved. This will include 2.5km of walking and bicycle tracks, along with picnic shelters and bird hides.
